"It's remarkable that a solution this flexible and comprehensive is so easy to deploy. The fact that Klir will be up and running in about an hour is a fantastic selling point."

-Denny Meijer, CTO, Scalable Networks

Scalable Networks
Managed Services Success

Scalable Networks is a network integrator that refines emerging IP technologies, enabling their clients to become early adopters without incurring the associated risks. Founded in 1997 and based in Wooburn Green, England, their clients include B&Q, Condé Nast Publishing, and the Royal Society of Medicine, as well as a number of public sector bodies.

QUICK FACTS
For Scalable Networks, the Klir Analytics solution delivered:

  • Rapid deployment – installed and running in about an hour
  • Ease of use
  • Reduced workload on IT staff and no onsite engineering requirement
  • Customizable reports, alerts, and dashboards
  • A viable cost-to-value proposition
  • An existing, proven skill base for customers to leverage
  • Reliable support

CHALLENGE
To improve efficiency and customer satisfaction, Scalable needed a fast and reliable way to deliver managed services and remote monitoring solutions.

Scalable looked at a variety of solution packages and found that they lacked flexibility. They then tried to develop their own managed service solution, but the time, resources, and money required to provide the level of service their clients demanded made it unfeasible. The startup requirements for their D.I.Y. solution included resilient internet connectivity and servers, VPNs to all monitored clients, and considerable engineering resources for setup and ongoing management of the system – engineers that could be working on billable client projects. They soon discovered that developing a solution on their own wasn't a viable option.

SOLUTION
Denny Meijer, CTO at Scalable Networks, heard about Klir Analytics and downloaded the free trial. Within an hour, he began six weeks of "pounding quite hard" on it. In the course of his testing, he determined that it was exactly what Scalable needed. Rapid deployment with customizable interfaces, reduced burden on IT staff, ease of use, enterprise-class reliability, and no onsite engineering requirement – it exceeded all expectations and provided a proven skill base for clients to leverage.

"To borrow a phrase, Klir Analytics is faster, better, and cheaper," says Meijer. "It takes us about an hour to set up Klir on a client's system, and within another hour, we start getting reports. I was blown away by its simplicity." That simplicity of implementation and usage contrasts the depth and breadth of service that Klir Analytics gives Scalable and their clients, providing flexible real-time service management within hours of installation.

Scalable purchased Klir's Private Label solution – a re-branding framework that promotes a service provider's brand and customer ownership. This keeps the Scalable Networks name in front of clients while leveraging Klir's resources and skills, and this is an important component for fostering brand loyalty.

RESULTS
In the first four weeks after deploying Klir Analytics, Scalable installed their branded solution with four clients. "Everyone I've shown it to says it's great," says Meijer. "It's remarkable that a solution this flexible and comprehensive is so easy to deploy." Meijer says that developing their own system would have taken 6-12 months, had 25% of Klir's capabilities, and cost in excess of $50,000.

Klir Analytics is a flexible solution for users who want to quickly and easily move from the break/fix model to the recurring services/revenue model without taxing their internal resources. Best of all, by helping users detect and fix system errors before clients even notice them, it brings Klir resellers closer to their clients and makes them their trusted advisors.
